Integrating Digital Signatures into Document Management Solutions.
Organisations around the world have implemented Electronic Content Management (ECM) solutions, Document Management (DM) systems, and their associated workflow applications. Their goal is to create paperless business processes that can streamline their operations, improve productivity, centralise and control their information, and ease access across locations.
ECM, DMS Application Integration Overview
Despite their widespread use, most DM/ECM systems still require users to reintroduce paper into the process for the final step in many business processes: a wet signature. Having to print and then appropriately route documents, just in order to gather signatures, creates an expensive and time-consuming process that has to be repeated for each and every document. Digital signature solutions enable organisations to complete the digital transformation of their business processes—no more printing, signing or scanning, no more paper that has to be manually processed and archived. This process, which can be seamlessly integrated into existing systems, helps reduce paper-related costs and cuts down on time wasted gathering signatures.
CoSign Connectors eliminate the expensive and timely installation processes other solutions require. Straight out-of-the-box, they enable organisations to tightly integrate digital signatures with the most popular document/content management and workflow systems, including SharePoint, OpenText, Oracle, Alfresco and more.
CoSign can also be integrated with any document-related system in side-by-side mode, or through a custom integration. Each of these options provides fully functional digital signatures that enable users to approve, agree, accept, and audit legally-enforceable documents and records, as well as a variety of advanced features.

CoSign Signature APIs:
Our APIs enable developers to enhance their applications with digital signatures without requiring previous experience using public-key cryptography. CoSign Signature APIs offer simpler and more dedicated APIs than Microsoft CAPI or similar solutions. CoSign Signature APIs also support the ability to add a graphical image of a hand-written signature or a scanned image from a seal or logo into the application.
CoSign Signature APIs include user management functions, enabling your application to automatically add, remove and modify signer information. Your software can access the CoSign Signature APIs locally or remotely:
CoSign Signature Local – A DLL and COM object enable local calls on Windows desktop and server systems.
CoSign Signature and CoSign Signature SOAP network APIs – access CoSign Central or CoSign Cloud services from any from any system or language, including Unix, MacOS, Java and PHP.
Standard Application Programming Interfaces:
CoSign supports multiple cryptographic APIs for signing documents and data sets including Microsoft CAPI, CAPI NG, Java JCA/JCE and RSA PKCS #11. These APIs provide low level interfaces, requiring additional software development. They do not include management functions or support for graphical signatures.
